The Velveteen Rabbit

This is a throw back to childhood, but it used to make me cry because I believed so hard that my toys would come to life at night. I did love my toys and knew that with enough love they would live.

The Velveteen Rabbit is a classic tale about becoming a "real" bunny. But before he could do that he must go through some suffering. It may not be such a great book to read to a child because it will cause tears.

The Time Traveler's Wife

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger has made me cry every time I read and reread it. I don't cry easily but this book will haunt you. It's so full of all the instances that creates life that you're in the book for days after you've read it and really this will cause you to want it never to end. In that way it's dangerous because you'll want to relive it.

I don't mean to scare you, it's a wonderful book about the life and love of Henry (the time traveler) and Clare (his wife). If you're looking for sci-fi try a different book, because although this is quite fantastical and beautifully told, it's, in essence, a love story.

Read it, let me know what you think...
